Understanding the dynamic behavior of mechanical components in response to large deflections, step loading or small amplitude vibrations is important for many types of applications including engine mounts, vibration isolators, cushions, door seals, sporting equipment, prosthetic and orthopaedic implant designs and more. To characterize the component, a combination of the following tests may be used: Large Strain (HyperElasticity) testing, Stress Relaxation (Equilibrium Stress Strain Curves), and Dynamic Materials Characterization. To meet the needs of these tests, the test system should have a wide performance envelope ranging from constant to several hundred Hz. The ElectroForce® series of test instruments provide a broad range of performance to meet these requirements.
